VHF Repeater "700" is a Tait repeater consisting of the following hardware and controlled features:

  1. Receiver T355 on 146.400MHz
  2. Transmitter T356 on 147.000MHz, 25 Watts.
  3. Duplexer Wacom WP-639.
  4. 2 stacked dipoles.
  5. Coax cable LMR-400.
  6. WVHFG 1802-design microprocessor controlled functions.
  7. Synthesised voice announcer.
  8. Mains powered with battery backup.
  9. Auto power reduces to 5 watts when mains fail.
  10. DTMF "Touch Tone" remote control.
  11. Trustee controlled mute, power and shut down.
  12. Public battery level, signal and SWR indication.

DTMF tones for public use:

700# = Signal strength indication in dB’s

700B#= Battery level in volts.

700A#= Forward power level.

700C#= Reverse power level.

Alarms:

1) "Pippippip" every 15 seconds means that the repeater has a serious fault and that the transmitter has automatically switched to low power.

2) "Minus power on" on the tail means that the main power has failed and the repeater is running on battery power. The transmitter has also been switched to low power.

3) "Beep" on the tail means that the repeater has had a mains power on reset.

 

UHF Repeater "8425" is a Tait T-196 repeater consisting of the following hardware and controlled features:

  1. Receiver T-196 on 433.425MHz.
  2. Transmitter T-196 on 438.425MHz, 1 Watt.
  3. MRF660 6.5 Watt power amplifier.
  4. Duplexer Deltec MD-460 1.5dB insertion loss.
  5. Antenna Diamond X-50 6dBD Omni.
  6. Coax RG-213/LMR-400.
  7. Microprocessor controlled via DTMF "Touch Tone".
  8. Mains powered with battery backup.
  9. Trustee controlled mute, battery exerciser and shutdown.
  10. Public tail extender and signal strength indicator.

DTMF Tones for public use:

  1. *12# = Extended tail for tuning purposes.
  2. *1234# = Tone output indicates signal strength.

Low frequency tone is strong signal at repeater.

High frequency tone is a weak signal at repeater.

Alarm:

Two Tone alarm for mains fail and has a power fail lock out if no battery is fitted.

 

SHF Beacon 12cm:

  1. DownEast Microwave WSS2401, 5mW(+7dBm) transmitter.
  2. Antenna is a horizontal polarised dual quad of 11dBD gain and +/-3dB beamwidth of 70degrees.
  3. Coax cable is LMR-400.
  4. Digital Morse code FM Keyer is a ZL1QF design.
  5. ERP is approx. 30-40 milliwatts.
  6. Mains powered with no battery backup.
  7. No alarms or control.
